The anticipated feeling one experiences when a pointing dog locks up on a quail covey followed by the excitement of the rush from the flush is simply irreplaceable! Entertain friends and clients on a true south Texas quail hunt. Our habitat management allows us to offer natural grounds with a wild bird population alongside supplemented liberated quail. Our professional guides will take you right into the brush on the heels of their experienced string of pointers and flushers. After a day in the field, you will return to enjoy our luxury lodge facility and chef prepared meals.
Conveniently located only an hour’s drive from San Antonio, the lodge easily hosts conferences, presentations, or other meetings of up to 40 people. Your event will have exclusive use of the lodge & the ranch during your corporate hunt or event.
Our luxury lodge can host up to 6 guests in private rooms, or 12 guests at double occupancy. Each room has its own climate control & private bathroom.
While you dine, relax, or entertain your guests, take in a stunnging view of the ranch valley, wildlife, & lake. The game room & patio have a pool table, foosball table, HD televisions with DISH Network, & a large stone fireplace perfect for unwinding with your friends and family.

Choose Your Quail Hunting Style
WWR offers a variety of Quail hunting services from walk up Quail hunts & Drive style hunts on custom rigs from half day to multiple overnight quail hunts accommodating groups from 2 to 8 guns. The daily bag limit is 15 birds per person per day & you may add on additional Quail, Chukar, & Pheasant. All-inclusive hunts include Professional guide, pointers, flushers/retrievers, bird cleaning, chef prepared meals, and luxury lodging.
Walk-Up Traditional Style Guided Quail Hunt
Park the truck and hunt the traditional way with a professional dog handler walking up the point.
- 1 night/2 hunts – $1,500 (per person)
- 2 night/3 hunts – $2,200 (per person)
(Minimum of 4 hunters)
Drive with custom hunting rigs
King Ranch Style rigs driving the roads following pointers
- 1 night/1 hunt – $1,400 (per person)
- 1 night/2 hunts – $2,200 (per person)
- 2 nights/3 hunts – $3,300 (per person)

Additional Info
Hunters will need a Shotgun, Shells (7 1/2 to 9 shot), protective shooting glasses, a valid Texas Hunting License including Upland Game Bird endorsement, (out of state hunters may purchase a Non-Resident Banded Bird Hunting License), comfortable clothing, snake boots, and a cooler to take game home in. WWR suggests shotguns that can open such as over and under and side by sides vs automatic for safety reasons & ease of in and out of hunting vehicles.
What is the best shotgun for Quail hunting? A 20 or 28 gauge with 7.5 to 9 shot and break open style shotgun seems to be the ideal fit and safest all around. In the event your gun fails we do have a a personal loaner, but we do not rent shotguns.
